Women's Health services offered in Orlando, FL

Women have a distinct set of health needs, and far too many place those needs at the bottom of a long to-do list. For women in and around Orlando, Florida, Karalynne Blochberger, MD, and Christina Pagan, PA-C, and the rest of the Access Medical Center Orlando team are outstanding resources for women’s health services. Booking a visit is as easy as a quick phone call or a few moments online, so don’t delay.

Why is women’s health so important?

Women have unique health needs, and addressing those needs is an essential part of overall health and wellness. Unfortunately, many women set their own needs aside to handle the obligations of career, home, and community. This can leave you without the screenings and health guidance you need to thrive.

All women should receive regular, annual women’s health services. These visits are often referred to as well-woman exams, and they should be a top priority.

What are some issues that can be addressed during a women’s health visit?

As you move through the phases of life, your women’s health needs will shift and change. When you partner with an outstanding team like the practitioners at Access Medical Center Orlando, you can rest assured that those needs will always be met.

Some of the issues that might be covered during well-woman exams include:

  • Birth control
  • Abnormal bleeding
  • Puberty and early menstruation issues
  • Fertility planning
  • Pelvic pain
  • Sexually transmitted disease prevention, screening, and treatment
  • Cancer screening
  • Breast health
  • Menopause symptoms

This is far from a comprehensive list. You should always feel free to broach any topic you like with your women’s health provider. The purpose of these visits is to meet your needs and answer any questions you have. An open and candid bond with your practitioner helps make it easy to communicate on any issue you choose.

Are pelvic exams always part of women’s health visits?

Pelvic exams, which include a visual inspection of your labia, vagina, and cervix, are usually part of women’s health exams. That said, you might not need a pelvic exam.

Young women who are not sexually active don’t need a pelvic exam in their late teens or early twenties. Some women who are beyond menopause may not need annual pelvic exams. Your practitioner will let you know what to expect during your women’s health exam.

If a pelvic exam is necessary, there is nothing to fear. These examinations take very little time, and every effort is made to keep you comfortable from start to finish.
