Recently, one of our patients received a call from an individual claiming to be associated with our office and Medicare. These scammers may tell you that your doctor has placed an order for a medical product and request payment over the phone.
To help protect yourself, please follow these important tips:
✔ Verify the caller's claims – Inform them that you will contact your doctor’s office directly to confirm any orders.
✔ Never provide personal or financial information – Do not share your Medicare number, Social Security number, or payment details.
✔ Ask questions – Request their full name, the company’s full name, their address, and companies phone number. Legitimate companies should have no issue providing this or any information.
✔ Check with your insurance – If your provider truly ordered a medical item, your insurance should be billed first, and you should receive an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) before any payment is required.
If you receive such a call, hang up and report it to Medicare at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) or contact our office for guidance.
Your security is our priority. Please remain cautious and always verify information before making any payments.
If you have any concerns or need assistance, feel free to call our office at (407) 447-2273 or email us at info@accessipc.com.
Stay safe and protected!
